All hands on deck for Doors Open Toronto

Calling all KITE trainees, students and researchers who can volunteer as tour guides when we open CEAL's doors to the rest of the city

We are happy to announce that the KITE Research Institute has been selected by the City of Toronto to participate in Doors Open Toronto 2020 – one of the city’s premier annual events. Each year, more than 150 architecturally, socially and historically significant buildings open their doors to the public for this popular free event.

As part of Door Open 2020, KITE has been asked to showcase our CEAL lab facilities at University Centre on the weekend of Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24. This is an excellent opportunity for KITE and Toronto Rehab to show off our unique simulation labs and share with the general public information about the groundbreaking research we are doing here.

In order for this event to be a success, however, we need your help. Milos and his team are seeking volunteers who can act as tour guides and research leads at each of the Doors Open tour stops. The volunteer shifts will be organized into four teams, each of which will be required to cover a shift of 3.5 hours.

The shifts are:

  1. Saturday, May 23 – 10 am to 1:30 pm
  2. Saturday, May 23 – 1:30 pm to 5 pm
  3. Sunday, May 24 – 10 am to 1:30 pm
  4. Sunday May 24 – 1:30 pm to 5 pm

We are hoping to get as many visitors as possible through the building on these days, but that will depend on the number of volunteers. We encourage anyone who is interested to please complete this doodle as soon as possible if you can volunteer on either of these days. We think this will be a fun day and a great opportunity to support the research institute.
