David Alter

Dr. Alter is a Cardiologist at Toronto Rehab, a Senior Scientist at KITE, and an Associate Professor of Medicine at UofT. David's research focuses on the cardiovascular health of populations by examining the survival effects, health service effects, and economic consequences of cardiac prevention. His research includes the development and evaluation of innovative strategies, including the study of music and rhythmicity (i.e., Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation) to improve exercise adherence among people who have, or those who are at risk for, cardiovascular disease. David holds a Research Chair in Cardiac and Metabolic Rehabilitation at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute-University Health Network, University of Toronto.
