Liziane Bouvier is postdoctoral fellow in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Yana Yunusova. Liz obtained her Bachelor of Linguistics and Psychology from University of Montreal in 2014, her clinical master in Speech and Language Pathology in 2016 at University Laval, and her PhD in Clinical and Biomedical Sciences at University Laval in 2021. Liz`s research interests focus on the characterization of motor speech disorders in neurodegenerative diseases for early diagnosis and monitoring. More precisely, her post-doctoral work focuses on bulbar amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disorder affecting the various components of the speech production system as well as the interactions between them. By the use of acoustic and perceptual measures of speech, she aims to develop efficient assessment tools for the detection and monitoring of speech disorders in speakers with ALS. For more information on all our Leadership Rehab Rounds visit our homepage
