Who can compete at the KITE 3MT 2021?
KITE trainees and research staff (who are not Scientists, Senior Scientists, or Staff Scientists) can submit their abstracts (300 words or less) to be considered for this competition.
The deadline to submit a 300-word abstract to be considered for the live-streamed and Twitter challenge is Friday, May 21st, 2021. Please note that there is a limit of 1 abstract submission as a first author for each person.
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
The body of your abstract text must be limited to 300 words (Background to Conclusion), and must include the following sections:
You may submit your abstracts under one of the following themes:
The review committee will select the top 15 abstracts to present at the live-streamed conference, while another 20 presentations will be featured on the KITE Trainee Executive Committee's (KITEC) social media channels and have a chance to win a prize in the Twitter challenge on the day of the event.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded, as well as a People’s Choice Award and a Twitter Challenge Award.

Trainee Network Session
Besides the 3MT competition, the Trainee Network Session is a structured speed mentorship event that provides you with the opportunity to meet and network with KITE@UHN scientists, topic experts, and alumni. This session will be hosted by the KITE Trainee Executive Committee from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, June 24, 2021.
