The Research Ethics Board (REB) ensures that research involving human participants conducted within the University Health Network (UHN) meets the required standards of ethical and research conduct. The Rehabilitation Medicine and Neuromodulation Panel of the Research Ethics Board at UHN aims to review human research studies for all studies from The Kite Research Institute and the Center for Advancing Neurotechnological Innovation to Application (CRANIA).
By dedicating a specialized board with knowledge and experience in rehab studies to review submissions from the Kite Research Institute, our goal is to minimize delays between initial submission and institutional approval.
Meeting dates and deadlines for submission are posted on the research intranet at http://intranet.uhnresearch.ca/service/meeting-dates-and-deadlines.
The KCRU was established to review REB applications for completeness and consistency prior to submission to minimize delays in the review process. From conceptualization to institutional approval, the KCRU is committed to assisting KITE scientists and trainees with all their research ethics board application needs.
The REB Panel D is dedicated to reviewing rehabilitation medicine and neuromodulation studies at KITE. Board D is led by Dr. Anthony Burns as Chair and Dr. Catriona Steele as Vice-Chair. Members of the board are posted on the research internet at http://intranet.uhnresearch.ca/sites/default/files/sites/all/documents/Panel_D_Membership_2022_07_27.pdf.
The REB Panel D meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month. Meeting dates and deadlines for submission are posted on the research intranet at http://intranet.uhnresearch.ca/service/meeting-dates-and-deadlines.
Please select TRI as the site organization in CAPCR (Page 5) and the application will be triaged to REB Panel D.
KCRU will be your single point of contact for all REB applications at KITE. To assist all KITE scientists and trainees, we created the KITE Clinical Research Unit (KCRU) to review applications for completeness and consistency to minimize delays. Before you submit your application in CAPCR, please contact KCRU at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org for a free review. We will be working with the CAPCR team to integrate an internal review mechanism in the near future.
