Biography

Dr. Parvin Eftekhar is an experienced occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience, specializing in neuro-rehab for conditions such as Stroke, MS and Acquired Brain Injury. Dr. Eftekhar is an expert in providing advanced and evidence-based intervention to manage spasticity and assist individuals in restoring their function and improving their quality of life. Her doctoral work assessed spasticity using combined kinematic and clinical outcome measures to assess the impact of BoNTA on arm function. Dr. Eftekhar research and clinical practice focus on patients goal-based intervention using the ICF model and has been published on this topic. She has been providing tele rehab to Toronto Rehab patients during COVID-19. She has also been an active member of the nerve transplant team at Lyndhurst. Her interest areas are on rehabilitation modalities such as sEMG, NMES/FES, and splinting/serial casting after upper limb nerve transplant in individuals with SCI.
